Overview

This version of Kaleidoscopes Book 1 includes the student book only. Most families will want to obtain the parent guide as well as the student book, available here. However, the student book is available separately for the following instances:

Beginning cellists, since there is not yet a parent guide for that instrument;
Families whose child's book has gotten lost or well-worn;
Giving as a gift for a family with young children who will enjoy singing the songs;
Settings where the parent guide is not needed — e.g. with older elementary students in a classroom setting.

Kaleidoscopes One

I have reviewed the book, and as a retired string teacher, I find it excellent. I plan to use it with my granddaughter, and know she will love the Kodaly aspect. The songs are cheerful and well presented. Many teaching details are included to present songs and violin techniques. I appreciate the concepts that align with Suzuki, especially technical challenges and ear training. Finally, the books are so beautiful and well designed….Kudos to the author and the publishers.

BK 1

I ordered BK 1 for my student and she has been loving it. She enjoys playing the songs on the piano, and violin, and singing them. Her skills are noticably improving.
